I'm Engaged! (16/9/2017)

June 21, 2018

Salam and hello everyone!

On 16 September 2017 was a memorable day for me as I was engaged to the love of my life. It was actually quite a sudden decision that my man and I made. We were worried if we were rushing things off and were we really ready for the next step? But you know what, you would never be ready for anything big in your life until you finally took the next step. So we did and the feeling was great! To be able to finally say 'YES' to someone you really love, to feel that you have found someone who is willing to share everything with you, to go on adventures with you, and to share the same goals as you; it's a beautiful beautiful feeling. Alhamdulillah :)

16 September 2017 also marked our 1 year of relationship. It was the day we first met.

Ah, you may ask, how did we meet? :)

On an island. Tioman Island to be specific. I was there with my friends for a vacation. One night, we headed out to a restaurant at the resort next to ours. He was one of the staff at the restaurant and so we started talking. And since then..you know lah what happened next. We started going on dates and la di da..

And a year later, ENGAGED! Macam tak percaya pun ada! Maybe that is why orang kata jodoh ni macam macam cara, kenal skejap je sup sap sup sap tetiba nak kahwin dah. Eh?

As you can see, I chose the theme peach or rustic coral! I have always wanted to have an event with this colour theme.

This is my fiance's eldest sister who was representing the whole family to put a ring on my finger. My fiance's parents have passed away a really long time ago.

I wanted a mini pelamin, nothing fancy because well it was just an engagement ceremony attended only by close friends and relatives. I REALLY LOVED how the flowers looked simple but at the same time elegant and classy! So who did all the flower works? I will list it down by the end of the post!

We decided for 3 exchange with 5 hantaran.

From man's side to woman's side:

  • Ring
  • Fruits
  • Chocolates
From woman's side to man's side:
  • Fruits
  • Chocolates
  • Sejadah
  • Al-Quran
  • Shirt
This is a Malay tradition that we usually practice for engagement and wedding ceremonies; exchanging trays of gifts. It can be anything!

Fantastic centerpiece! I was surprised. I didn't know they were going to assemble a super
bomb centerpiece. I thought it would just be a small vase with little flowers. But voilaaa! Love it very much!!

My hand bouquet

The doorgifts for the guests were personalized canisters with chocolates in it.

My bestie for life and MUA, who did my makeup for the event!

My family!

My best friends since highschool days!

Last but not least, with the man I want to spend the rest of my life with. Thank you for having this crazy idea to choose me as your future life partner!

Here is the list of vendors that I've hired for my engagement ceremony. I was very satisfied with each vendor! I recommend them if you are planning an event as well!

  • Mini pelamin/gubahan hantaran/ hand bouquet/ table centerpiece - Ilham Flora (Super professional and workmanship is amazing!!)
  • Canopy/ tables and chairs/ catering - Alya Jaya Catering (Yummy yummy yummy! Guests were complementing the food all the way!)
  • Personalized canister - Nigina.art (Love her artwork! Very professional, delivered the items very very early so no one would be panic!)
  • MUA - Elle Zain (Love her touch! See how glowing my face was. An expert in 'no makeup' makeup look)

Thank you to all who came and supported my relationship with him. Thank you for all the wishes, prayers, gifts and kindness. I'm blessed! :)

Xoxo,
Lina
